Pick some sumac and let’s use it for some delicious seasonings!
Have you seen this plant on the side of the road? Cut off the berry clusters.

Set them out to dry in the sun (or use a warm oven).

Clean the berries from the stems and shake off debris.

Use a spice grinder (or clean coffee grinder) to make a powder.

When you’re done, save it to use in Za’atar, meat rubs, or other recipes. Next month I will post how to make delicious Za’atar to use in hummus, potatoes, beans, chicken and meats.
