Broiled Tofu

Crispy outside, moist inside. Simple to make!
  • 2 bricks extra firm tofu
  • 1 Tbsp oil
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tsp sriracha or other hot sauce
  • 1/2 tsp sesame oil

Press tofu under heavy weight for at least 10 minutes. (I like to press it under the pan I’m about to cook it in.) Drain off liquid. Slice each brick into 3 lengthwise slices, like a deck of cards (see video). Heat broiler. Mix all remaining ingredients in a heatproof pan. Lay tofu slices flat and cover both sides with sauce. Place pan under broiler 8-12 minutes until edges crisp. Flip each piece and broil the other side. Can be eaten plain, in salad, sandwiches, burgers, casseroles, stir fry, etc.
